Huawei's Honor branded handsets to receive Android 6.0 update in February 2016
According to a report published today, some of those who own the Huawei Honor 7, will soon be part of a beta test for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. Additionally, a tweet from the Huawei Honor Indian subsidiary revealed today that the final version of the update is expected to start getting pushed out in February. Phones receiving it will include the Honor 7, along with the Huawei Honor 4C, Huawei Honor 4X, Huawei Honor 6 and Huawei Honor 6 Plus.
While the update plans for the Honor brand have apparently been revealed, there hasn't been any information about when we might see phones from the main Huawei brand receive Marshmallow. The company is still basking in the success of the Nexus 6P release, which is the manufacturer's first Nexus handset.
Huawei is expected to hold an event on November 5th. We could see the company unveil its new high-end chipset, the Kirin 950. At the same time, we might also see the introduction of the first handset to employ the chip, the Huawei Mate 8.
