Huawei honor 8 will be announced on July 11
Huawei is getting ready to announce a brand new smartphone from its honor brand. Called honor 8, the new device won't be unveiled on July 5 (as recently rumored), but on July 11. This is now confirmed by an image - seen in the slideshow below - which shows up over at honor's official Chinese website. Speaking of China, that's where the honor 8 will be announced on July 11, and we assume it's going to be released there shortly after that.
Just a few days ago, China's Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center (aka TENAA) revealed several photos of the honor 8, while also confirming most of its specs. The handset measures 145.5 x 71 x 7.45 mm, weighs 153 grams, and sports a 5.2-inch display with 1080 x 1920 pixels (though a Quad HD variant may exist, too). On the back, the new smartphone has a dual 12 MP camera with LED flash, and a round fingerprint scanner. Also on board are an 8 MP front-facing camera, 4 GB of RAM, 32 GB of expandable storage space, and a 2900 mAh battery. As for the processor powering the device, this is an octa-core 2.3 GHz Kirin 950 (or maybe Kirin 955). At launch, the honor 8 will run Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and prices for it should start at around $300.

Right now, we don't know if the honor 8 will be available in the US. However, we already have an official honor US online store (from where you can buy the honor 5X), so there's a chance that the upcoming smartphone will arrive stateside at some point. We'll certainly let you know if that happens.
