Huawei P8 photographed wearing a disguise
The Huawei P8 will be unveiled not at MWC next month, but at a special event being held in London on April 15th. Thanks to a pair of photographs that leaked this morning, we can show you what allegedly is the top and bottom of the device. Unfortunately, the handset is ensconced in a special case that precludes us from showing you more of the phone.
Huawei's biggest challenge this year will be staying ahead of Xiaomi in the global smartphone manufacturing race. Last year, Huawei edged out its fast growing rival to capture third place in the rankings. With that in mind, Huawei has high hopes for the P8, which will feature an aluminum body. The bottom of the phone will contain the usual microUSB port with dual speakers on the left and right. The top of the handset offers a typical earphone jack.
Besides the regular version of the Huawei P8, we could also see a "Lite" model introduced on April 15th.

We expect to see a 5.2-inch screen with a 1080 x 1920 resolution. Huawei has said that it does not want to waste battery life on a QHD screen at this point in time. A trip to the AnTuTu benchmark site revealed that the handset has a home grown octa-core 2GHz Kirin 930 CPU under the hood. 3GB of RAM is inside along with 64GB of native storage. A 13MP camera adorns the rear of the unit, while an 8MP "selfie snapper" is found on the front. Android 5.0 is pre-installed.
