Huawei Mate 8 to be unveiled in Berlin on September 2nd?
A teaser posted by Huawei lists September 2nd as the date when it will "bring you a taste of the flagship flagship." According to those in the know, the manufacturer is referring to the Huawei Mate 8. The event taking place on that date in early September will be held in Berlin. There is plenty of interest in the Mate 8 this year because of the speculation that Huawei will be producing one of two Nexus handsets that will be released later this year. Some believe that the Huawei built Nexus handset will feature some of the specs and design cues of the Mate 8.

The Huawei Mate 8 is rumored to be equipped with a 6-inch screen which would feature a 1440 x 2560 QHD resolution. In the past, the company has said that a 1080 x 1920 FHD resolution screen was enough for smartphone users. Consider that the Huawei P8max has a 6.8-inch screen with a 1080p resolution. But Google is certainly going to want to keep using a QHD screen for its Nexus phones, which makes the Mate 8 a test of sorts for Huawei.

The Huawei Mate 8 could be the first smartphone to be powered by the home-grown Kirin 950 SoC. There is talk about one version of the phone carrying 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, while another variant would come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory. The phone is expected to offer dual SIM dual Standby capabilities, and a fingerprint sensor should be on board. A rear-facing 20.7MP camera. and a front-facing 8MP snapper will reportedly handle photography chores. Considering that a massive 4100mAh battery powered the Huawei Ascend Mate 7, we wouldn't expect anything less for the Mate 8.

Thanks for the tip!
