Huawei G8 pops up on TENAA, boasts thin bezels, mid-range specs, and a fingerprint scanner
Last September at IFA 2014, Huawei marked its presence on the expo by unveiling the upper mid-range Ascend G7, among other devices.
It looks like a successor to this handset is in the works - the manufacturer could be dropping the "Ascend" once again and prepping a Huawei P8 handset for IFA 2015, as such a device has been spotted at China's TENAA regulatory website, all along with some specs and a handful of photos.
Rolling under the AL00 model number, the Huawei G8 looks like a metal-clad warrior with pretty thin side bezels.
Specs-wise, will sport a display in the 5 - 5.5-inch range, 2GB of RAM on board, 16 gigs of storage, as well as a 13MP rear camera adorned with a dual tone flash sidekick. There is also a fingerprint scanner at the back, most probably of the touch-based type, just like the one on the back of the Mate 7.
Provided that the device has already been certified by TENAA, we can safely say that its arrival is around the corner and will likely take place in the following weeks. We shouldn't rule out the possibility for an announcement at IFA 2015, where Huawei is also rumored to launch the Mate 7 Plus and the Mate 8.
We will most probably get to know more in the following weeks and months.
