The Huawei Ascend P7 was launched in early May, and by the middle of last month, it had sold over 1 million units. Huawei has a target of 10 million Ascend P7 handsets that it wants to sell. Early Saturday, the manufacturer started pushing out a firmware update for Huawei's latest flagship device, living in Germany. This is a maintenance update that kills bugs dead and improves the performance of the phone. As a result, Android 4.4.2 remains installed.
The Huawei Ascend P7 comes with the Emotion 2.3 UI. A flatter, more pastel looking Emotion 3.0 was leaked earlier this month, but this update sticks with version 2.3 for now. The new Firmware update is number L10V100R001C00B126, and it is aimed at the Huawei Ascend P7-L10. This is the international model for Europe.
The specs still present as a flagship device, with its 5 inch screen and resolution of 1080 x 1920. The Ascend P7 chows down on some home cooking with a quad-core 1.8GHz HiSilicon Kirin SoC, teaming up with the Mali-T450 crunching graphics. 2GB of RAM is on board, although 3GB of RAM seems to be the spec du jour for the high-end set. 16GB of native storage is on the phone, while 12GB is the actual amount open for users. A 32GB capacity microSD slot is a bit on the light side. The rear-facing camera is 13MP with an 8MP snapper on front, and a 2500mAh cell keeps the lights on.
The update is being sent out OTA, so as we always remind those expecting such an update, your best bet is to be on Wi-Fi when you download and install it, so as not to use your precious data allowance for this task. In addition, make sure your battery is at least 50% full.
