Halo: Spartan Assault for WP8 coming first to Verizon for $6.99
Not too long ago, we heard that Halo: Spartan Assault would be making its way to Microsoft's mobile platforms, including Windows Phone 8. The game has been developed by Vanguard Games and 343 Industries, and will be a top-down twin-stick shooter. And, now we also know that the game will be exclusive to Verizon when it launches in the U.S.

That's not to say it will stay exclusive to Verizon though. Verizon has announced that the game will launch exclusively on Verizon WP8 devices - Nokia Lumia 928, Nokia Lumia 822, Windows Phone 8X by HTC, and Samsung ATIV Odyssey - but those will simply be the first devices to get the game, and it should make the rounds to other carriers and devices later on.

In Halo: Spartan Assault you will play as Commander Sarah Palmer or Spartan Davis, and Xbox 360 owners who play Halo 4 can also earn additional experience points for their Spartan Career by playing the mobile game and acquiring certain weekly achievements.

There is no word yet on when the game will be released, but Verizon has said the game will cost $6.99 and be made available in the Windows Phone Store.
