HTC tipster posts preliminary list of HTC phones presumed to be updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow
If there's one thing that HTC smartphone owners have recently complained about their experience is that the company has a tough time pushing out timely software updates. With Android 6.0 Marshmallow right around the corner, those of you with an HTC handset are probably starting to wonder if HTC can actually deliver this time around.

The developer that goes by his @LlabTooFer is not only the creator of the Maximus HD ROM, but a popular and credible HTC tipster as well. Just recently, he posted a list of HTC phones expected to receive an update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow overlaid with HTC's proprietary Sense 7 user interface.

It will certainly come as of no surprise to hear that HTC is allegedly working on updating recent flagships One M9 and the One M9+ to Android M, especially since HTC has officially confirmed Android 6.0 updates for these two phones. The HTC One M8, the company's 2014 flagship, and some of its derivatives will also get an update, but the 2013 HTC One M7 is notably missing from the list.

The tipster also mentions a range of other HTC phones, such as the Desire Eye, Desire 816, Desire 820, Desire 826, One M8s, One M8 Eye, One E8, One ME, One E9+, Butterfly 2, and Butterfly 3. @LlabTooFer says that this is a preliminary list of phones and that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update might never come for handsets with limited internal storage, such as the Desire 816. The Desire 820 also deserves a special mention in this context, as the phone is still waiting for its Android Lollipop update but is listed as getting the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update.

On our part, we urge you not to take this list as final. If the manufacturer can backtrack on its promises, then any information coming from unofficial sources is to be taken with an unusually high dose of salt.

What do you guys make of this list? Is your phone mentioned?
