HTC releases EYE Experience software update with Android 4.4.4 KitKat to HTC One (M8) owners in India
After carrier-locked units in America received the same update, it seems HTC One (M8) owners from the rest of the world - India, in this case, are getting an early Christmas present in the shape of a ~300MB update that includes the HTC EYE experience on top of Android 4.4.4 KitKat. Our reader Sudhansu Shekhar beamed these screenshots to us as proof. We can see that the update adds the following features: Face Tracking (track up to four faces during a video chat); Split Capture (record video from the main and front cameras simultaneously); Face Fusion (merge your looks with those of someone else); Voice Selfie (land a picture or video selfie by uttering a trigger phrase); Live Makeup (digital skin smoothing); and Photo Booth (merge up to four selfies in a single picture);
Pretty cool, huh? The update bumps the HTC One (M8)'s software version to 3.35.720.1 and is being spread over the air.
The HTC Eye experience was introduced with the HTC Desire Eye smartphone, and ended up as a software feature in the HTC One (E8) Eye out of the box. Both smartphones are very similar to the HTC One (M8) hardware-wise, so it must make perfect sense for HTC to bring those enhanced selfies and features aboard.

Thanks for the tip, Sudhansu!
