HP Slate 7 Beats Special Edition with Android 4.4 KitKat coming soon?
HP is seemingly getting ready to introduce a new Slate 7 Beats Special Edition tablet - which, as its name suggests, should be a variant of the Slate 7, Slate 7 Plus (pictured on the left) and Slate 7 Extreme models that were launched last year.
The HP Slate 7 Beats Special Edition received its Wi-Fi certification recently, and that’s how we found out about it. Unlike the three older Slate 7 models, which run Android Jelly Bean, the Slate 7 Beats Special Edition runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat. We don’t know in what way this new tablet is special, since the first Slate 7 (released in early 2013) had Beats Audio, too. But HP will hopefully provide some official details on this soon.
While
the first Slate 7 is no longer available to purchase, the Slate 7 Plus can be bought for $149.99 (at least in the US), and the Slate 7 Extreme can be acquired for $199.99. We’re assuming that the Slate 7 Beats Special Edition will cost a bit more. Of course, that remains to be seen.
