Google launches another Inbox Happy Hour; 70% of Inbox users are using Android
Earlier today, we told you that Microsoft had launched Outlook Preview for both iOS and Android. Google countered by offering another Inbox Happy Hour. That is what Google calls the time period when it sends out invitations for its Inbox app to those who request it. Google is going to allow this Happy Hour to run 24 hours, so if you've been wanting to download and install Inbox, now is your opportunity.
Inbox is an enhanced Gmail inbox that helps you organize your email. You can "snooze" certain email so that it will disappear and return to your inbox later. You can also "pin" messages and those missives containing important appointment confirmations become easier to find. In addition, the app will give you information you need to complete a task. If you have a restaurant reservation, you will see a reminder along with the directions to the eatery. Eventually, Inbox will allow users to retract a sent email before it is read.
If you don't have Inbox yet, you have until 12 noon EST Friday to request it. Simply send an email to inbox@google.com and keep your fingers crossed.
