Google event scheduled for October 24th is not for the Nexus 5
Google has sent out invitations for an event scheduled for October 24th. While the first thing that comes to mind is a possible unveiling of the Google Nexus 5, there are no clues that would directly point to that handset being introduced at the event. The invitation shows the Google Play logo and says "Join us for a night out with Google Play. Music, movies games and a special performance by Capital Cities."
You might expect something more from the company that hid the design for the Nexus 5 inside the camera app for Android 4.3. On the other hand, perhaps this invitation is for a night out with Google Play and has nothing to do with the next Nexus handset or Android 4.4 KitKat at all! As it turns out, the latter analysis is 100% correct.
A published report on Friday cites a reliable source as saying that this event will not feature the introduction of any hardware at all. As it turns out, the event will be for educational purposes only. Well, that now leaves next Thursday wide open for you.
