Gigaset ME, Gigaset ME Pure and Gigaset ME Pro unveiled in Berlin
Earlier today, we showed you some leaked photos of the Gigaset handset that was unveiled today in Berlin. The event is now over, and we can tell you that the company that purchased Siemen's former mobile phone division has introduced three new handsets. The Gigaset ME, the Gigaset ME Pure and Gigaset ME Pro have been unwrapped. All three handsets are made from an alloy consisting of stainless steel and lightweight aluminum.

The Gigaset ME features a Gorilla Glass 3 protected 5-inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920. That is a pixel density of 441ppi. The Snapdragon 810 SoC is under the hood, although the octa-core CPU has been underclocked to 1.8GHz. The Adreno 430 GPU handles graphics. 3GB of RAM is inside, along with 32GB of expandable internal storage. Both the rear camera (16MP) and the front-facing camera (8MP) feature an f/2.0 aperture, allowing you to take pictures in low-light conditions. A fingerprint scanner is included and the phone offers dual SIM capabilities. A 3000mAh battery (with QuickCharge 2.0) powers the device, which does support 4G LTE connectivity. Android 5.1 is pre-installed with the Gigaset UI running on top.

The Gigaset ME Pure is a lower priced version of the ME with a 13MP rear camera, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The Snapdragon 615 SoC replaces the Snapdragon 810, but a larger capacity battery (3320mAh) is included. The Gigaset ME Pro is a premium model with a 20MP rear camera, a 4000mAh battery, 3GB of RAM and a larger 5.5-inch screen offered.

The Gigaset ME is now available in the UK, Germany, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Poland and Turkey. It is priced at the equivalent of $530 USD. The other two models will be released at a future date.
