The Siri voice recognition feature-in German
Deutsche Telekom started accepting pre-orders for the Apple iPhone 4S in September, well before Apple officially introduced the handset. Perhaps that explains why one of its customers has already received his new Apple iPhone 4S. The customer was kind enough to share pictures of the packaging of the phone with the 99% of the rest of those who pre-ordered the phone
but won't receive it until October 14th. Besides pictures of the box, we also get to see a screen shot of the Siri voice recognition service, albeit in German. Besides German, the voice recognition service will support
English and
French at launch with more languages added in the future.
Those that pre-ordered the Apple iPhone 4S before inventory ran dry should be receiving the phone this Friday when it will also be in stores. Apple
received 1 million pre-orders for the phone in the first 24 hours that it was available, breaking the previous record of 600,000 units set last year by the Apple iPhone 4. New orders
will now be shipped in 1 to 2 weeks according to Apple's web site and those of the three carriers in the U.S. offering the fifth generation version of Apple's touchscreen handset. With such a great start, some analysts see the Apple iPhone 4S
selling 25 million units during the fourth quarter.
