Gameloft brings 'immersive mode' to Asphalt 8, other Android games to get it by February
Gameloft has confirmed to us that it will bring support for ‘immersive mode’ to some of its hottest Android games by the end of February, and it has already bundled it in titles like Asphalt 8: Airborne.
Immersive mode allows a game to occupy the full screen on Android devices with on-screen buttons, and the buttons would just disappear like they do when watching video. Right now - in contrast - the buttons get blacked out, but are still there, in the way of gaming, taking up precious screen space, and threatening to quit the game if you accidentally push them.
The plan is to have a lot of high-profile Gameloft titles updated to support ‘immersive mode’ in January and February. Here is the list of games that Gameloft has updated or will update in this short timeframe:
The game developer might also add the new gaming mode to more titles in the near future, but there are no specific names just yet.
