Galaxy S6 said to come packaged with quality Sennheiser earbuds in the box
Details on the Galaxy S6 keep leaking around the CES expo, and the latest is that it will come with quality Sennheiser earbuds packaged in the box. That might mean an extra focus on audio quality, like the one we witnessed with the Note 4.
Samsung usually outfits the Exynos versions of its flagships with a dedicated, higher-quality sound processor, and the Note 4 is no exception. Its Exynos 7 Octa model is granted a Wolfson Microelectronics WM5110E Audio Hub CODEC with a Voice Processor DSP, a teardown revealed, and, coupled with the three directional mics that record high quality stereo audio, makes it one of the best phones for Android audiophiles.
Apparently, the Galaxy S6 will carry on that tradition, though at this point it is not exactly clear if those will be exclusive for the "limited" S6 Edge, other editions of Samsung's spring flagship, or the Sennheisers will be present in the box across the rank and file of S6 model numbers. Sennheiser already sells the $60 MM 30G earbuds, tailored specifically for the Galaxy line of flagships, so it's not that big of a stretch to imagine that the renowned audiophile company might have paired up with Samsung to make something similar in mass quantities.
