Future OnePlus 5 software updates will bring image stabilization for 4K video, Wi-Fi fixes

OnePlus today held an AMA (ask me anything) session on Reddit, providing fans with answers to various questions, mainly about the OnePlus 5 - the company's brand new flagship smartphone.

Among other things, OnePlus talked about image stabilization on the OnePlus 5 and its new dual rear camera. As this video is clearly showing, 4K video recording suffers from a total lack of stabilization. Fortunately, OnePlus says that a future software update - no, not the one launched today - will bring EIS (electronic image stabilization) for 4K video recording on the OP5. It's not clear when this update is supposed to arrive, but let's hope it's coming soon.

Another future update should address a Wi-Fi issue that the OnePlus 5 is having. Some of the folks who already own the handset have been noticing that, quite often, even if Wi-Fi appears to be connected, the phone can't access the internet. OnePlus is aware of the problem, and plans to improve things with an upcoming update - which may arrive before the one bringing EIS.
