Fore! Xiaomi teases August 25th event to unveil Redmi Note 4 and Redmi 4

The time has come for Xiaomi to introduce a couple of new phones to its considerable fan base. A teaser released by Xiaomi (in partnership with China Mobile) reveals that the manufacturer is holding an event on August 25th. That happens to be this coming Thursday, just two days away. It also confirms a previous leak. During the event, we expect the company to officially introduce the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 and the Xiaomi  Redmi 4.

Based on a leaked retail box for the phone, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 will feature a 5.5-inch display with a 1080 x 1920 resolution. A MediaTek Helio X20 chipset is under the hood carrying a deca-core 2GHz CPU. One version of the phone comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The second version offers 3GB of RAM with 64GB of native memory. A 13MP camera graces the back of the device with a 5MP selfie shooter in front. Keeping the lights on is a 4100mAh battery.

Based on a Geekbench run through and other leaks, the Xiaomi Redmi 4 is expected to be equipped with a 5-inch display. The Snapdragon 625 chipset powers the handset while carrying an octa-core CPU and the Adreno 506 GPU. One variant of the device features 2GB of RAM inside along with 16GB of native storage. The second variant comes with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory. 

We hope to fill in the missing blanks including the missing specs, pricing and availability, in a couple of days. That's when both models should be greeting the light of day.
