Updated: Japan-exclusive HTC J Butterfly to launch only in Taiwan as the Butterfly 3

Update: Apparently, the HTC Butterfly 3 will only be launching in Taiwan, and HTC doesn't have plans to roll it out globally, at least at the moment. Senior Global Online Communications Manager Jeff Gordon tweeted that the information about a global launch is false
I don't know where this news cycle started that HTC announced Butterfly 3 for global distribution. It's only announced for Japan and Taiwan.

But the J Butterfly wasn't out of surprises yet – the phone also offered a 20 MP Duo Camera setup on its back, assisted by OIS and dual LED flash, and a 13 MP selfie camera on the front. And, of course, the phone had a stereo set of BoomSound speakers tucked under its top and bottom bezels. Additionally, we also get water- and dust-resistance with its IP57 rating. All in all, the phone was packing everything top-class that HTC was able to throw at it at the time.
Well, if you've been itching to get your hands on the exclusive handset, you just may be in luck. On the previously mentioned press conference, HTC said that it will be rolling the phones out of Japan. The HTC Butterfly 3 will hit the Taiwan market on October 20th, priced around $600 – a pretty standard flagship device price-tag. Previous rumors claim that the two announced handsets are actually headed for global distribution. So, let's just wait with bated breath...
