Dijit's universal remote app gets a fuller looking makeover for the iPad
In our last Android tablet review, the Motorola DROID XYBOARD 8.2, we noticed it was preloaded with Dijit’s popular universal remote application – to work in conjunction with the tablet’s built-in IR blaster. Also, we checked out the Griffin Beacon a while back, which is a puck looking contraption that turns the iPhone into a universal remote of some sort.
Whether it was on the iPhone or the DROID XYBOARD 8.2, they were running the smartphone version of the app. Luckily, the iPad is going to be getting some love now that an optimized version of the popular app is well on its way. Blessed with an ample amount of real estate, the iPad-optimized Dijit app takes a fuller looking appearance with its new interface.
Whereas the standard app broke down various functions of the app separately, this one allows you to have more things on-screen simultaneously. In fact, you can have the show guide, device controls, video previews of shows, and many more all on the interface. On top of that, you can still manage your Netflix streaming queue or check Wikipedia all from within the Dijit app.

In order to use the iPad-optimized version of the Dijit app, users will need to have at least iOS 4.0 or later installed.
