Custom everything! Samsung will have a dedicated Kindle book store

Engadget passed along the word thatSamsung and Amazon have negotiated a "custom-built" Kindlebook store for Galaxy devices. Avid readers will be getting a lotfrom Sammy's "custom everything" approach to apps - ownersof the Galaxy S5 (and more Samsung devices later) will be entitled to12 free books a year, in addition to four "prominent"titles a month to choose from - we don't know whether that meansfree, or discounted books. The service will launch in the next twoweeks.

Recently, Amazon partnered up with Samsung to bring its 4K Instant Video streaming service on the company's 4K TV-sets, so if anything, it seems the two have begun a beautiful friendship.

Unfortunately, that's all the information we have for themoment. We'll update the news if an official announcement pops upsometime soon.

UPDATE: And here we go with the official announcement. The Kindle for Samsung app is immediately available from Samsung Apps for the Galaxy S5, along with existing Samsung Galaxy smartphones and tablets above Android 4.0 in over 90 countries. As part of the service, Amazon and Samsung will launch Samsung Book Deals, available to all customers using Kindle for Samsung. It provides up to 12 free eBooks a year to all referred Galaxy device’s customers who use the service. Users can choose a free book from a selection of four different titles every month. Each book is chosen specifically for Galaxy smartphone and tablet users from a wide selection of prominent titles.

The Kindle for Samsung app comes with all of Amazon's familiar reading functionality, including Whispersync (which syncs your books and reading progress on all your devices), Time to Read (shows you how much time it will take to finish a chapter or a book based on your reading speed), and Worry-Free Archive (automatic back-up of your Kindle books to the cloud).
