Chinese regulators certify the Xiaomi Redmi 4
Xiaomi has been in the news lately thanks to its introduction of the Xiaomi Mi Note 2, and the Xiaomi Mi MIX. The latter is a concept phone with a 6.4-inch screen that comprises 91.3% of the handset's front body. Only 10,000 units are being produced a month. 31% of those who participated in our poll said that they are ready to pre-order the Mi MIX pronto.

While the Mi Note 2 and Mi MIX are high-end models, the Xiaomi Redmi 4 will be a mid-range device that is a sequel to this past January's Xiaomi Redmi 3. The Redmi 4 has just been certified in China by regulatory agency TENAA, sporting model number 2016090. The phone carries a 4.96-inch screen with the Snapdragon 625 chipset under the hood. The latter features an octa-core 1.4GHz CPU and the Adreno 506 GPU. 2GB of RAM is inside along with 32GB of native storage. A 128GB capacity microSD slot is available to those seeking additional storage.

A 13MP rear-facing camera is included, along with a front-facing 5MP selfie snapper. The fingerprint scanner is located on back, underneath the rear camera. A 4000mAh battery keeps the lights on, and Android 6.0 is pre-installed. There is no word yet on when Xiaomi plans on officially introducing the phone, but it will be offered in Gray, Gold and Silver.
