Cases for the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus confirm placement of fingerprint reader?
Even though we have shown you a number of cases allegedly designed for the Samsung Galaxy S8, none of them match the leaked image of the phone released by Evan Blass. That is, until today. A couple of pictures found on weibo show two cases that are apparently made for the 5.7-inch Samsung Galaxy S8 and the 6.2-inch Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus. Both units will feature a Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560.

What makes these cases appear to be legitimate is the placement of a cut out for a rear-facing fingerprint scanner that lies to the right of the camera. This is exactly the layout we see from the Galaxy S8 in the photo disseminated by Blass, who is considered one of the more reliable tipsters around. The cut out on the left is large enough to encompass both the flash and the camera. We'd also like to play Devil's Advocate here. If you look at the first picture in the slideshow, there is plenty of noise around the Samsung logo indicative of some editing. In addition, it isn't very clear that the cut out for the fingerprint reader is big enough to allow a finger to press the button. Thus, we would definitely take this story with the proverbial grain of salt.

The two handsets will be powered by either the Snapdragon 835 chipset or the Exynos 8895 SoC depending on the country. 4GB/6GB of RAM will be inside. A 12MP rear-facing camera and a 5MP front-facing selfie shooter are expected to be on board. A Type-C USB port is included, and the Galaxy S8 is expected to carry a 3250mAh battery. We will get a 60-second glimpse of the phone at MWC thanks to a brief video that Samsung will show. The introduction of the eagerly awaited handset is rumored to take place on March 29th.
