A report from Italy claims that ASUS is about to introduce a new budget smartphone at MWC 2017 this month. Allegedly, this is going to be the Asus Zenfone 3 Go, a successor to one of the more popular devices in the Zenfone 2 line-up.
The source claims that the smartphone will feature a 5-inch display with 720p resolution and is going to be driven by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, paired with 2GB of RAM. A 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front facing cam are to be added as well.
The leaked image below shows a metal build that's pretty conventional-looking, but reasonably solid for a device that's said to start at $160. Hopefully, this will be the global price, rather than an Asia-only deal. The world could truly do with more "good enough" smartphones at the sub-$200 price point.
