Last week, we told you that Apple would be
opening its first Brooklyn based Apple Store today, and so it did. Located at the corner of North 3rd Street and Bedford Avenue, the newest of Apple's retail locations unlocked its doors this afternoon as a large number of Apple fans quickly filled the store. In the back, a large video screen displayed Apple's products while customers sat on cubes that they could position as they pleased.
As customers entered the store, employees handed out free t-shirts and cheered on those who had waited outside until the doors opened at 10am. This is the ninth Apple Store to open in the Big Apple with six located in Manhattan, one in Staten Island, and one in Queens. Besides the big showroom, there is a smaller second room where Apple TV, Beats headphones and HomeKit accessories could be examined.
The outside of the store is made of brick giving the structure an imposing look. An old-fashioned metal sign with the iconic Apple logo juts out at a 90 degree angle to the structure. It is quite a contrast to the sleek and modernistic glass Apple Store cube located on New York's Fifth Avenue.
