Become a Power Ranger with Qualcomm's VR demo at CES 2017
According to a press release by Qualcomm, the company is partnering up with one of the biggest movie studios out there, Lionsgate, in order to give CES 2017 visitors a nostalgic VR demo. The two companies are working on a Power Rangers VR experience, which will show off the capabilities of Qualcomm's upcoming mobile chip – Snapdragon 835.
Qualcomm also stated that users will be able to “enter the zords of their favorite Power Ranger, embodying their powers and capabilities”. And since a lot of us here at PhoneArena have grown up with different iterations of the Power Rangers, we'd love to give this VR experience a try.
“We're happy to be working with Lionsgate to create an exciting virtual reality experience for Power Rangers fans through the technologies we've implemented on Snapdragon 835,” said Mike Finley, senior vice president and president of Qualcomm North America and Australia.
The Power Rangers VR experience will be shown off at booth #10948 in the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center. The two companies behind it also “plan on expanding the initiative internationally, including China”. We're not sure if this means that the VR experience will be hitting the app stores around the world, or there will be scheduled demos across the globe, though.

According to its creators, the Snapdragon 835 should provide higher frame rates, and improved audio and graphics, compared to the currently available VR options.
