BeCasso turns your pictures into art, a great Prisma app alternative

The Prisma app was all the rage a couple of months ago: with its clever algorithms, the app was able to transform pictures into beautiful art in different styles.

Now, a new app does just that, but offers some nifty new effects that make your pictures a lot like water-color and oil paintings. The app is called BeCasso and it's available for $2 on iPhone and iPad.

BeCasso transforms images in three main styles: oil painting, watercolor, and cartoon. You can also experiment with various color filters and tinker with contour depth, sharpness, and color range to set the mood of an image. There's also a dedicated paint-brush tool that allows precise, real-time changes to the look of pictures.
