Assembled iPhone 6 appears on video, reviewing every nook and cranny
After months of leaked dummies, half chassis and frontal screen halves, the alleged iPhone 6 has finally been assembled, and its inner (and outer) workings displayed on video. Not only that, but the authors explore every nook and cranny of the claimed 4.7" iPhone 6 - they've confirmed some sort of aluminum alloy for the sealed unibody, an A8 processor inside, as well as an NFC chip at last.
The rumored sapphire screen, however, is a no-go, according to the sources, though we are not really sure how exactly they were able to conclude that from a simple physical examination. The camera sensor has been improved, they say, although it's not exactly clear of they mean a higher resolution, but the sacrifice that had to be made is that it will be protruding about a millimeter or so from the back, as the iPhone 6 has become much thinner, compared to its predecessor. Here's the full English transcript of the video, for your viewing and reading pleasures:
Hi There are few people that had the luck to see this device in person, and we are one of them. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the real iPhone 6, up to every screw. The iPhone 6 is like the leaks and projects showed us, and this is a fact. Like we already know, the power button is on the side, and this is good because it’s comfortable as the display dimension grown from 4 to 4.7 inches. The phone results itself bigger than the iPhone 5s, and in line with the 2014 competition devices. Compared with the predecessor, the iPhone 6 is slimmer but taller and wider. The space grey color is exactly the same as the last year model. Sadly, the Apple logo is not backlit, but is made probably with liquid metal, as is difficult to scratch and seems to auto repair itself. It has a great grade of protection against corrosion too. As we expected, the body is unibody, like a macbook, and is made in a sort of Aluminum Alloys with some plastic inserts to house the antennas. As you can see, this is not a fake or a plastic mockup. We disassembled it and you can see that the motherboard house ad A8 processor and an NFC module (yay!). The bottom part of the body is aerodynamic and the glass is curved at the edges. It’s really beautiful. Sadly this kind of manufacturing is expensive, and the glass is not made in sapphire. It’s another kind of glass, however. It’s just like a tempered and sapphire multilayer glass. By the way it surely feeling great to the touch and it’s a lot more transparent. The TouchID button is not convex, and is comparable to the 5s one, but the sensor area is increased so the sensor should work better. The FaceTime camera is not on the top of the speaker but on the side, as seen in the iPhone 4 and 4S. The iPhone 6 looks like a bigger 5th generation iPod Touch. The volume rocker is the same and the bottom part remind the music player. The lightning port and the sim slot are unchanged. Speaking about the camera, the sensor is improved, but in a slimmer body they’ve made the sacrifice to protrude the optic. The flash is circular but is still true tone, with improved low light performance for a more accurate color reproduction. Do you want to know how it feels in the hand? It feels just great. It’s really cool, and yes, the iPhone 6 will be a best seller on the market.
What do you think about the device shown in this video, do you like where Apple is heading with the iPhone 6, if this contraption turns out to be the real 4.7" deal?
