Apple iPhone 7 front panel smiles for the camera?

With this week's unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, the next big name smartphone on the horizon is the Apple iPhone 7. Apple is expected to throw its usual September shindig which means that the Apple iPhone 7 and Apple iPhone 7 Plus are just weeks away from being officially rolled out by Apple. The problem is that between now and then, we will be inundated with pictures and videos all promising to show the next iteration of iPhone handsets.

For example, today we received a tip about a photograph that purportedly shows the front panel of the Apple iPhone 7. The cutouts for the speaker and the proximity sensors don't match previous leaks of the iPhone 7. However, Japan's Mac Otakara says that the iPhone 7 will have a larger ear speaker and two proximity sensors; this perfectly describes the panel in the photo.

So this is the dilemma that we find ourselves in as we come down the home stretch. Based on everything we've seen to date, the Apple iPhone 7 will launch without a 3.5mm earphone jack as a second set of speaker grilles uses the extra space on the bottom of the phone. The antenna lines have been moved to the top edge and bottom edge of the phone, and the rear camera will feature a larger lens size.

The Apple iPhone 7 Plus will have a dual camera setup based on the images we've seen. Up in the air is whether or not the 5.5-inch handset will offer the Smart Connector contacts on the rear. Recently there was talk that Apple had shelved this feature for the iPhone 7 Plus after discovering that it was not a good fit for the phone.

We would head to the pantry and take this story with a grain of salt. Make sure you have about a month's worth of salt remaining because you are going to need it between now and the unveiling of the new iPhone models.

Thanks for the tip!
