Apple iPhone 6 to feature 13MP rear camera?
If a report published on Thursday is true, the rear camera on the Apple iPhone 6 will feature a 13MP Sony Exmor IMX220 sensor. The Sony Xperia Z3 is said to be outfitted with a 20MP version of the same part . Besides containing a 1/2.3″ sensor, the Sony Exmor IMX220 also would allow iPhone 6 users to take 1080p video in 3840 x 1080.
When it comes to the camera on the iPhone, Apple has been able to offer buyers of its smartphone, one of the better photography experiences on a handset. Since the Apple iPhone 4s, Apple has been able to keep its rear snapper at 8MP, while competing with 13MP and 20MP rear cameras on other flagship models.
Earlier this year, we discussed the rear camera for the iPhone 6 and while there was some speculation that we would see another year with an 8MP camera, there was also talk about a possible 10+MP snapper with an aperture of f/1.8, perfect for those times when you're taking pictures in low-light conditions.
Thanks for the tip!
