Android Wear 5.0 (Lollipop) update now rolling out to Sony's SmartWatch 3
As we told you last week, Google started rolling-out a 5.0 update to Android Wear smartwatches. Motorola Moto 360 users should all get the OTA update today the latest, but owners of other Android Wear smartwatches may not be that lucky. Still, if you have a Sony SmartWatch 3, you could receive the update any minute now. In fact, quite a few SmartWatch 3 users (from various parts of the world) are reporting over at the XDA forums that their device has already been updated.
The Android Wear 5.0 update makes it easier for users to find and change watch faces. In addition, it brings new brightness and sound modes, a better organized shortcuts menu, the ability to bring back dismissed cards, and more.
The Sony SmartWatch 3 was priced at $249 at launch, but you can now buy it for as low as $199. Its features include a water-resistant body, a 1.6-inch display with 320 x 320 pixels, quad-core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB of internal memory, and a 420 mAh battery.
