From the pits of leakster purgatory which scribbled the eventual Galaxy S5 Zoom cameraphone specs on a sheet of paper, now comes the first claimed picture of the device. Samsung's second shot at a compact camera with phone functions, however, is referred to as the Galaxy K Zoom, rather than continue the naming tradition that commenced with the S4 Zoom.
As a reminder, the K (S5) Zoom is expected to land with a 1.6 GHz quad-core CPU, or a 1.3 GHz Samsung Exynos 5 Hexa CPU with ARM Mali-T624 graphics. The other rumored specs are a 4.8" display with HD resolution, and 2 GB of RAM, as well as the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat.
The picture on the right somewhat confirms the pieces of information that we got before about the design and the camera, too. The shooter is said to be 20 MP - a decent upgrade over the 16 MP unit on the S4 Zoom - with 10x optical zoom and Xenon flash, just as its predecessor. The sources claimed before that the K (S5) Zoom will be thinner than the S4 Zoom, and the lens will be "much better hidden in the casing." We can't really figure out the dimensions from this picture alone, but what can be confirmed is a faux leather back of sorts, which would jibe with Samsung's design paradigm of late. Also, the Samsung lens' characteristics, engraved in the metal camera ring, indicate a 10x optical zoom indeed.
