IFA 2016 is already in full swing, so news about the many products announced at the trade show keep coming. Alcatel is one of the many companies that has something to say at this year's IFA, so we're here to listen.

In fact, it was no longer than yesterday that Alcatel announced its SHINE LITE smartphone and the standalone Vision VR headset. Today, the company is back with yet another lineup of products, the POP 4 tablets and XL smartphone.

The POP 4 tablets come in two variations: 10-inch and 7-inch. The XL smartphone boasts a 6-inch full HD (1080p) display. According to Alcatel, its new lineup of Android devices are meant to offer “both style and substance,” since they feature premium metallic design.

Specs-wise, Alcatel POP 4 10'' comes with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor, while the 7-inch version is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT8735 CPU.

The XL smartphone announced by Alcatel features an octa-core MediaTek MT6755 Helio P10 chipset inside and support for LTE cat 6. The phablet is powered by a 3,500 mAh battery, which is wrongfully rated by Alcatel for only 1 day of power on standby. Probably it should last for 1 month on standby.

Finally, the XL smartphone packs a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash, as well as a 5-megapixel camera in the front for selfies and video calls. There's also a fingerprint scanner on the back side.

It's also worth mentioning that Alcatel has teamed up with Waves to include MaxxAudio too all these Android devices in order to optimize their audio quality. In addition, all three Alcatel devices offer LTE support.

According to Alcatel, the POP 4 tablets and XL smartphone will be launched in the Middle East, Africa and Europe starting from mid-October. No word on pricing options yet.
