Alcatel One Touch Star is introduced, looks pretty in pink

Here's one more smartphone we can add to the long list of upcoming Alcatel handsets. Meet the Alcatel One Touch Star – a pretty modest Android offering that aims to impress the audience with looks rather than specs.

Speaking of specs, the Alcatel One Touch Star offers a 4-inch AMOLED display with WVGA resolution (480 by 800 pixels), a dual-core processor clocked at 1GHz, and 512MB of RAM. All of that would have been classified as cutting-edge 3 years ago, yet today, specifications like these won't make anyone go "wow". Moving further down its product page we see a 5-megapixel auto-focus camera, a front-facing snapper, 4GB of storage, 1,500mAh battery, and a microSD card slot. Android 4.1 Jelly Bean comes out of the box.

So yeah, the Alcatel One Touch Star won't grab the attention of power users, but perhaps the ladies might dig its palm-sized stature and metallic brushed finish. Chances are we'll get to get up close and personal with the handset at MWC later this month.
