The US variant of Nokia N95 is official

Today Symbian officially announced the US HSDPA-variant of the N95, also known as the Nokia N95 US. The phone is expected to be available through independent retailers in major markets including New York, Los Angeles, Miami and San Francisco, as well as the Nokia Flagship Stores in New York and Chicago. The N95 US will also be available from Nokia’s www.nseries.com and other online retailers with price of $699. This is for sim-free device, not one with contract to any carrier. The supported bands (quad-band GSM and UMTS 850/1900 MHz) will allow it to be used in AT&T’s 3G network.

The US-variant of the N95 doubles the available RAM Memory (from 64 to 124MB) and improves the battery times thanks to a larger battery. Due to it, the back is redesigned and like in the N95 8GB, there is no lens-cover. It is a Symbian v9.2 device running on S60 interface, which is used in all other modern Nokia smartphones. The form-factor is dual-slider which opens to the bottom for numeric keyboard and to the top for music keys. Featuring A-GPS, WiFi, 3.5mm jack, Stereo Speakers and Bluetooth support and 5-megapixel camera, it is one of the most advanced Nokia phones. If you are not familiar with N95, please read its review, or take a look at the N95 US Specifications.

Still, Nokia hasn’t announced the phone officially.
