Sprint today launched the Sanyo Katana II, as cheap but thin phone. The replacement of the first Katana, the Katana II or Sanyo SCP-6650 is nothing special feature-wise. It still lacks EV-DO and has small VGA camera and the things changed are bigger internal display (2.0” instead of 1.8) and slightly different design. The Katana II is offered for $99.99 after rebates, while the first Katana is free.
Rumors show that Sprint PCS will get hi-end Katana phone, modeled DLS, later this year.
