At CTIA 2006, LG showcased the CG225 – an entry level clamshell phone for the US #1 carrier- Cingular. Although it is positioned in the low class, the CG-225 doesn't feel or look cheap. It is black in color with black mat keypad and dark grey glossy surface around the external greyscale display. The internal screen is 65k color unit, with VGA camera featuring fun options like color effects and frames. The LG225 is a quad-band phone with GPRS support, but unfortunately it lacks Bluetooth.
The phone is expected to be released around May.

The CG300 is a mid-level Clamshell phone, already available from Cingular. Sadly LG didn't use an internal antenna, so there is a big stub bulky thing sticking up the phones body.  Called ID display and big speakerphone are situated on the front shell, while the back is dominated by the camera lens. The camera itself is a VGA unit and the internal display is 65k color STN one, which is worse then with most phones in the middle segment nowadays. At least LG300 has some cool features like instant messengers and Push-to-Talk with dedicated key.

Moving over to the CDMA side, LG LX550 will be a definite winner when launched from Sprint. For us personally the size is somewhat on the large side, but given its very decent feature set and appealing iPod styled front cover with music-keys, it should be well accepted by most young consumers. Very “cool” looking is the outer display which shows moving equalizers when music is played. Once opened, a large screen and a smooth keyboard made of transparent rubber are revealed.
The phone comes equipped with microSD memory expansion slot, which can store all you favorite music. Stereo sound can be transmitted via Bluetooth, or through the 2.5mm jack located on the right side. Very nifty feature is the FM transmitter, allowing the music to be streamed and listened to a nearby radio. We would have named the LX550 the ultimate music phone for Sprint, if only the jack port was the standard 3.5mm headphone instead of the 2.5mm.

LG3400 and LG5300 are the successors of  the 3300 and the 5200 respectively, available through Verizon. The VX3400 adds a grayscale caller ID display on the front cover, and keeps the same simple design with a sleek body. The VX5300 adds Bluetooth and has a different, sleeker body than its predecessor. Both the 3400 and the 5300 are expected to launch on Verizon later this year, but still there are no official dates announced.

The saga about LG's 8000 series started in 2004 with the introduction of VX-8000 – the first phone for the US with a 1.3 mega pixel camera. It successor was showcased during CTIA 2005 and was smaller with rounder curves and added Bluetooth and miniSD.
VX-8300 is respectively the third edition and just has some cosmetic design changes in comparison the 8100.
The main feature difference is the changed miniSD to microSD memory and the added Bluetooth stereo streaming.
As its previous version, the VX-8300 will be available from Verizon Wireless.
